In der August-Ausgabe 2019 des renommierten Weinmagazins »The Wine Advocate« hat Verkoster Mark Squires die Weine von Dirk Niepoort vorgestellt und bewertet. Der COCHE BRANCO 2017 aus dem Douro, eine Cuvée aus Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Arinto und anderen, wurde mit stolzen 94/100 Punkten hervorragend bewertet, zu ihm schreibt der Verkoster nachfolgend im Original:
„The 2017 Coche is a field blend from old vines featuring Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, ARinto and others. It aged for 12 months in 50 % new French barriques and five months in stainless steel. It comes in at 13 % alcohol. In bottle for about six months, this is elegant and a little impacted by wood, but that will change. Fresh, long on the finish and very refined, this is another superb Coche. It won't hit you over the head - it is all about grace and finesse. This will hold at least 20 years, probably a lot more. We'll take it in stages. Niepoort likes this even better than his 2016. At the moment, I'd call the 2016 slightly better. We'll see as they age - they are both very oung and very terrific - but let's be a little cautious now.”
