Hohe Bewertung mit 96/100 Punkten für Niepoorts ›Batuta Tinto 2013‹ 18.11.2015
Der berühmte US-Journalist James Suckling (früher »Wine Spectator«) hat aktuell unter der Rubrik „Portugal's Greatest Wines in 2015- Top 100 Wines in 2015” die Port- und Stillweine von Niepoort aus dem D.O.C. Douro hoch bewertet. Über deren ›Batuta Tinto 2013‹, den er mit 96/100 Punkten bewertet, schreibt er nachfolgend im Original:
„The subtlety and complexity to this is wonderful with perfumes of lavender and hints of sandalwood. Very aromatic. Full body, ultra-fine tannins. The winemaker says it is a ‚sexy MF’. I agree. This is from two different areas in high altitude. The vineyards are all over 80 years of age. Aged in barrels but only 20 % new.”
