Robert Parker vom renommierten Weinmagazin »
The Wine Advocate« bewertet in seiner Ausgabe 135/2001 den ›
Hécula Tinto 1999‹‹ von
Bodegas Castaño aus dem
D.O. Yecla mit 92/100 Punkten (= herausragend). Über die
Cuvée aus Mourvèdre,
Tempranillo und
Merlot schreibt der Redakteur unter anderem im Original:
„(...) Even better is the 1999 Hécula, a blend of 70% Mourvèdre, 20% Tempranillo and 10 % Merlot aged six months in new American oak prior to being bottled without filtration. Like its sibling, it is a special cuvée selected for the American importer. The 199 Hécula boasts an opaque black/purple color resembling ink more than wine. The bouquet offers terrific aromas of melted licorice, pain grillé, blackberry liqueur, and minerals. Spectacularly concentrated, thick, unctuously-textured, and seamless, this amazing effort rivals the 2000 Vitiano as possibly the world's greatest single wine bargain. It should drink well for 5-7 years.”
