Robert Parker verkostet und bewertet für seine renommierte Wein-Zeitschrift »The Wine Advocate« regelmäßig Weine aus aller Welt, darunter natürlich auch Weine aus Portugal. Den ›Redoma Tinto 2008‹ von Niepoort aus dem D.O.C. Douro bewertet er mit stolzen 93/100 Punkten. Nachfolgend im Original die Degustationsnotiz von Mark Squires:

„The 2008 Redoma Tinto is a typical Douro blend of many grapes, including Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela and others from old vines (60-120 years) aged for 20 months in French oak. This is another superlative performance by this wine. It is very pointed and focused, complex and ageworthy. The other good news is that the price is a lot lower than on the Carme and Batuta and it is as good or better, albeit differently styled. If this does not seem to have quite the depth or richness of the wonderful '07, it is if anything, more precise and focused, and possibly more ageworthy (not that the '07 was a slouch in that department). Fragrant, exuberant, tight and a little oaky at the moment, this wine could use a little time to settle down for best results. There were 13,847 bottles produced. Drink 2013-2028.”
