„The 2013 Touriga Franca was aged for 18 months in a 60/40 mixture of new and second use French oak. The structure is better than the fruit here, but that structure is reasonably impressive and the fruit is pretty good, too. Opening powerfully, this is beautifully focused. However, it has enough mid-palate concentration to balance the power and the tannins fall off fairly quickly. The monovarietals from Ravasqueira this issue are quite fine--and very different. This intense Touriga Franca lacks the understatement of the Syrah, relatively speaking, but it adds some volume and power. Both are winners. You can approach this now, as it comes around pretty quickly, but if you can give it another year or so in the cellar, it wouldn't hurt.”
