Mit 93/100 Punkten bewertet: ›Bioma Tinto 2012‹ von Niepoort

In der März-Ausgabe 2016 des renommierten »The Wine Advocate« haben die Weine von Niepoort wieder hohe Bewertungen erhalten. So hat Niepoorts ›Bioma Tinto 2012‹ aus dem D.O.C. Douro satte 93/100 Punkten von Verkoster Mark Squires erhalten. Über die Cuvée, erzeugt unter anderem aus den Rebsorten Sousão, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca und Touriga Nacional, schreibt er nachfolgend im Original:

„The 2012 Bioma is a field blend sourced from organic, 25-year-old vines in Quinta de Nápoles. Aged for 12 months in use 5,000-liter barrels, about 20 % of its stems were also used. It omes in at just 13 % alcohol. Intended to be relatively non-interventionist, this succeeds in all of its goals. Not showing a lot of concentration and weight - most Niepoort wines do not - this does have wonderful transparency and purity of fruit, a juicy, fresh feel to it and a lingering, delicious finish. Its intensity of flavor, strong aromatics and freshness are always front and center, nicely balancing each other. It never seems sweet or candied, even when it is at its fruitiest.
