Niepoort wieder hohe Bewertungen erhalten. So hat Niepoorts schon etwas „älterer” Jahrgang 1996 des ›
Redoma Tinto‹ herausragende 91/100 Punkten von Verkoster Mark Squires erhalten. Über die
Cuvée aus dem
Douro, erzeugt u. a. aus den Rebsorten
Tinta Amarela,
Touriga Franca und
Tinta Roriz schreibt er nachfolgend im Original:
„The 1996 Redoma, a library wine seen at the winery and just the 5th vintage of this now-familiar label, is lovely now, depending on how mature you like them. It is complex, with obvious tertiary nuances, but some tannic pop still on the finish. It is showing hints of oxidation on opening. All that said, as it shook off the bottle slumber, it actually became fresher, blew off some of the oxidative nuances and became far more interesting, a sunny pleasure with silky texture and a sweet finish. This probably has some limitations at this point, depending on your taste, but I wound up liking it a lot. It has the structure to continue to hold for several years – its decline should be gradual – but at this point it is probably about the bottle and its storage as much as the wine, so don’t hesitate to dive in. Drink now.”
