„The 2009 Tiara is a blend of Codega, Rabigato, Donzelinho, Viosinho, Cercial and others from old vines (40-100 years) and a high altitude vineyard (600+ meters) that spent 8 months in stainless steel. Aged on the lees, it had no maloactic fermentation. Not surprisingly, even in the sometimes big and fat '09 vintage, this is crisp and steely, another in a line of increasingly interesting Tiaras. It is also remarkably elegant, again, notwithstanding the vintage. Depending on what style you want - trocken Riesling lovers and Chablis fanciers take note - this may well become your favorite Niepoort bottling, and it is reasonably priced, too. There were 19,219 bottles produced.”
