„The 2008 Tiara is a blend of Codega, Rabigato, Donzelinho, Viosinho, Cercial and others from old vines (40+ years) and a high altitude vineyard (600-800 meters) that spent 8 months in stainless steel. This bottling, meant to be steely and crisp, has been increasingly interesting. In 2008, a year in which Douro whites show generally good acidity, this seems very successful. Pointed, fresh and focused, it has a crisp finish, lingering flavors and a lively, sunny demeanor. It is not shrill, though. As it warms up and airs out, it proves to have the depth of fruit necessary to balance its acidity. If you have not tried Tiara yet, this is the year. There were 700 cases produced, of which 75 were imported. Drink now-2013.”
